Scale Degrees: The Universal Language
Instead of note names (C, D, E), musicians use numbers (1, 2, 3). These numbers describe the role each note plays.
1 = Home, rest
5 = Strong, stable
7 = Tension, wants to resolve
These feelings are the same in every key.

Create a short melody that:
• Starts on 1 (home)
• Goes to 5 (strong)
• Ends on 1 (home again)
